Vampire Weekend

New York City's own Vampire Weekend is one of my favorite bands in the indie rock scene and their keen sense of style is unlike any other. I think it could be in relation to the fact that they are from one of the most style oriented cities in the world or maybe they're Ivy League background being graduates of Columbia University. Whatever their influence their cool relaxed "not trying so hard" style gets my approval. I actually own that same PRL Club rugby pictured above in white. Boat shoes, desert boots and suede Adidas Gazelles are their choice of footwear. The majority of the hipster community are trying to follow in their footsteps although we all know who originated this look. Now to the music, the first album self-titled is a really good album with my favorite song being "Oxford Comma" and it gained my attention to this group back in 2008. Contra was just released a couple months back and it took a while to grow on me before actually liking it. Mainly because I bought it with the XX album and that album is incredible. But Contra does get some rotation in my car. Vampire Weekend all around gets an EMM approval stamp for their music and style so go out and support their music because music careers these days are becoming more and more scarce in this digital era that we live in.

Beautiful Ful Fall/Winter 2010

Santa Monica based Beautiful Ful's new ad campaign is called "The Last Man" and has some nice pieces and images. I like the black/black varsity jacket and the tri-colored sport shirt as well as a couple other pieces minus the leather pants.

Macy's Spring Catalog

Macy's Spring catalog is very prep school influenced and less Ed Hardy influenced like it has been in the past. Starting from the top is the cover, Kenneth Cole Tie Bars $30-$32, Izod Pastel Patchwork Shorts $36, RL Polo Oxford Shirts $79.50, RL Polo Rugby $125 and Cole Haan Air Grant Moccasin with Nike Air Tech $138 and Clark Originals Desert Boots $95. In the close up of the model wearing the Rugby shirt, I really like his braided rope bracelet. Ralph Lauren has been putting them on a lot of his models lately so maybe he is planning on releasing one of his own.

Burberry Check-Lined Umbrella

Are you tired of the rain lately? Well me too! But in the meantime here's a cool way to keep yourself dry and stick out from the norm. It's Burberry's Check-Lined Umbrella and it comes in different colors but this was my favorite pick. If you saw the pictures from the last Burberry runway show this umbrella was used by the doormen/security at the show (sorry I just notice things like that maybe because it's my job to!) The Generic Man Shoreman

The Shoreman by The Generic Man came out really well with its navy canvas and white perforated leather combination. Out of all the boat/deck shoes that I have posted these happen to be one of my favorites. I need these! Available now @ Barneys.com for $305.

Well it's Spring again and chambray happens to be one of the hottest fabrics for this season so here's another nice one that I found. It's Woolrich's Chambray Work Shirt in summer black and it's nice and simple and lightweight. Available @ Bloomingdales.com for $145.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Collection Ad Campaign

The new ads for the LV Monogram Idylle Collection came out really well! I really like that watch and the necklaces that the model is wearing pictured above. They also feature they're newest Speedy bags with the shoulder strap.

Ellus Jeans Spring/Summer 2010 3D Ad Campaign

Brazilian brand Ellus's new 3D ad campaign is one of the coolest looking ad campaigns especially if you have a pair of 3D glasses sitting around your house. But if you don't it still gives off a very different hazy artistic look to it which I appreciate. Pictured in the ad photos are Cintia Decker and Madonna's new BF Jesus Luz. TOD'S New Gommini 122 Sand Suede with Fringe

I was lucky enough to find these beautiful suede shoes yesterday at the Tod's retail store from the S/S 2009 collection in a 9.5. That is usually my size but they were a little big so I added some insoles that I acquired from the Clarks retail store and now they fit perfectly. Good luck trying to find these. This was the only pair that they had left and believe me I've looked online for these already. Lucky find!
