If you didn't know by now that Michael Bastian is one of my favorite designers then now you do and his recent Spring/Summer 2012 Runway Show at New York Fashion Week has some great looks pictured above. I love how he used a female model to show off one of his menswear looks! These are all my favorite looks except for the fact that I'm not really into shorts with sportcoats but the look was fresh if they were pants.
It's getting chilly out here in New York so it is time to start pulling the flannels out of the closet or picking up new ones like this one here from PRL in an earthy olive tone surrounded by bright blue, yellow and orange plaid. Available now @ Bloomingdales.com for $495.
Sperry released these Band of Outsiders Boat Shoes in brown and dark brown suede (my favorite out of the bunch) green suede and nylon with black and grey laces, brown suede and nylon (which are actually from last season) and those brown striped wool ones pictured above. All are available now @ SperryTopsider.com for $175.
Sperry releases two new Band of Outsiders Tassel Loafers from their Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection. I prefer the brown suede pair more than the brown striped wool pair. Both are available now @ SperryTopsider.com for $165.
I saw this outfit on NET-A-PORTER and it is so perfect that I had to post each piece because they are all special in their own way. This Black Fleece Cable-Knit Cardigan with the Black Fleece logo gold buttons by Thom Browne himself is the first of the perfect trio that caught my attention. Available now @ NET-A-PORTER.com for $375.
Thom Browne's collaboration for Brooks Brothers called Black Fleece always seems to have some incredible prep-inspired pieces including this Cable-Knit Wool Skirt in grey with a silk navy grosgrain waistband. Available now @ NET-A-PORTER.com for $575.
These Calf Hair and Leather T-Bar Pumps by Burak Uyan in grey and black are a very special pair of pumps for the ladies! Very sexy! Available now @ NET-A-PORTER.com for $840.
I saw a picture of this Barbour coat on their website yesterday in a cool crayon blue color with navy cord collar and cuffs. Here is a little color to brighten up your fall. Keep an eye out for this one!
I'm really digging these Double Breasted Wool Pea Coats from H&M! I was at H&M yesterday and I came across the grey one pictured above and I likes. The only thing I would change is the buttons but that is something that I always do when I buy an H&M coat to make it different than all the thousands of people wearing the same coat. It retails for $79.95. Camel colored wool always gets me though and that is the winner out of the bunch!
J. Crew keeps it classic for the men with a pop of bright colors and nautical influences as well with nautical stripes and boat shoes (which I will never get tired of EVER!). I love the mix of blues and greens which are my two favorite colors.
Color seems to keep being the key to every collection these days and finding different ways to use it. No more boring days of black, grey and white. I am all for color and I hate the winters of New York seeing everybody literally wearing black from head to toe like they are all attending funerals rather than work. Jenna Lyons style is definitely seen throughout the collection including the models wearing thick framed glasses like her. I see a Prada influenced outfit as well as Celine so with this collection they trying to go with that super high end look which I am not mad at. This also marks the first time J. Crew has ever presented a collection at Fashion Week in the 28 years that they have been around showing that they are definitely at a new level of high end fashion. I love J. Crew and have always been a fan since I was a kid so I am proud of the level of respect and success that they have been built up to.
